KARAKAYABefore you get to Gümüşlük you see the sign for the village of Karakaya. Take the turn without thinking. A few minutes later you will see an old residential area on the sides of the barren hill. Leave your car at the entrance of the village and walk along the narrow streets. Karakaya is one of the oldest settlements on the peninsula, with stone houses, some hundreds of years old, some of which are abandoned and some that have been restored by their owners. The giant cactuses and the begonia add another climate to these stone houses. The view from the village that towards the Sporat group of islands and Kos is marvellous. We will advise you to come here at sunset.
